We have recently been using software called 'Character Creator 4' from a publisher called Reallusion. We needed characters to populate the digital twin of the US Grant Hotel in San Diego. With Travelvrse, we've been creating an interactive gaming experience that lets you explore the hotel and earn rewards. There were a myriad of characters developed, from President Grant himself, guests in the hotel, and a gang of Flapper Girls and Guys in a 1920s style.
Here's an example of how Reallusion's iQlone software makes it super easy to animate facial expressions in realtime. You can use the puppeteering tools on the face and on the body rig.
Character animations can be optimised for Game Engines or super high-quality for film & video use. We bring them into Unity to use in our projects. Check out the Travelvrse case-study for more information.
