Working with Pebble Studios again, we developed a Virtual Product Launch for Sciex. In the grips of the global pandemic, many companies have had to utilise online tools to create a sense of presence and immersion as an alternative to their usual conferences, exhibitions, and symposia. Sciex had an incredible new product range to announce to the world and they were keen to make a big impact. A live launch was organised and coincided with Webinars in different time zones over a period of two days. The Webinar links were published using a countdown clock and then broadcast the Keynote speech in real-time to create that sense of a live experience. Pebble did a fantastic job of integrating the 360 virtual sets used in the website into the keynote video to really emphasise the feeling of presence and immersion.
Whilst navigating through the virtual halls, the visitor was able to learn about the new Sciex product range. We built interactive product pages with animated, 3D product visualisations and hotspots.
The 360 tour works effortlessly in the browser using WebGL. We were able to load 2k looping video files for each of the main scenes, and then, to add some extra finesse, we created lens flares, and patched other animated features into the scenes. Pop-up, embedded microsites were created using standard web tools and image sequences to keep the quality high. The backend was designed to enable certain features of the website on the day of the LIVE Keynote event.

Over the period of the pandemic, companies who needed to continue their experiential marketing, and product launches, but were not able to execute them on-site, turned to webinars and virtual conferences. Like many technologies that were forced into the spotlight (like Zoom), some of the more efficient and successful solutions have been adopted.
Virtual 360 tours are now common in Real Estate, Construction, Heritage, Arts & Culture.
Webinars are a fantastic way to ensure engagement and offer viewers discounts in real-time.
Competing for a customers attention on these platforms requires Creative Technology thinking. You have to push the boundaries of what you can achieve in the browser. Bring people together in Metaverse experiences that replicate the Exhibition and Conference space from the comfort of your office. Shared spaces, real presence. This is all possible.
